We are proud to announce the additions of Erik Eisele and Jimmy Voorhis to the 2017 MWV Ice Fest Guest Guide Roster! Ice Fest is always proud of the quality of guides that work the event, and these two are both stellar mountain men, and straight-up good dudes!
Erik Eisele is a hard man to track down these days. When he isn’t out climbing, he is busy snorkeling in some crystalline waters, writing for the Portland Phoenix, or guiding trips to Cuba. So when we pinned him down for some Ice Fest clinics, we were psyched! The guy is a fantastic climber (sponsored by Trango) and an excellent guide (who also works for Cathedral Mountain Guides). He also boasts a climbing resume that includes sending M11 and establishing FAs up to M8.
Jimmy Voorhis is a climbing guide and a geologist who spends his winters guiding here in the Mount Washington Valley and his summers working in Alaska with the Alaskan Mountaineering School. In recent years, he’s been sending the big stuff in AK, and ticking off El Cap ascents in the off season. When I shot him an email recently, his response came from El Chalten, Argentina – home of the iconic Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre massifs. Here’s to hearing Patagonia stories and gleaning some of Jimmy’s big mountain knowledge at this year’s Ice Fest!
Stay tuned on the clinics page to learn what sort of winter skills you can learn from these two!
