We want to send a big welcome to all the Outdoor Research athletes that will be back at the 2018 Mount Washington Valley Ice Fest! Not only are each of these people amazing climbers, teachers and guides but also absolutely awesome people. We are so psyched to have so a stellar roster of OR athletes back at the event! Here are a few fun facts about each one coming back!
Alexa Siegel: Alexa loves all forms of climbing from sport climbing to ice and mixed climbing. She has traveled all over the United States and abroad to pursue the sport, but she is always happy to call New Hampshire home and climbs here year round.
Matt McCormick: Matt has since been perpetually psyched on pursuing all forms of the sport – from 10 foot tall boulder problems to new ice and mixed lines, to high altitude golden granite. This passion has led him to travel to destinations all over the world including Pakistan, China, and the Canadian Rockies.
Emilie Drinkwater: Emilie is the 9th woman to be fully AMGA/IFMGA certified guide and one of the most talented and humble ice climbers we know. She has climbed and skied all over the world and have first ascents/descents in the Adirondacks, Alaska, the Karakoram, and the Hindu Kush.
Bayard Russell: Bayard says he enjoys winter climbing for “the complexity of the challenges” and loves teaching the finer points of climbing technique and tactics. Bayard is always psyched to share his experience and love for the outdoors.
Bryan Gilmore: While he enjoys long, remote alpine routes most, he’s also appreciates the short, fierce test-pieces of Rumney and mixed climbing. Bryan just returned from a month in the Tasermiut Fjord, Greenland, where he summited Nalumasortoq and Ulamertorsuaq.
Peter Doucette: Peter is an AMGA/IFMGA Mountain Guide and climbs extensively throughout the world having completed numerous first ascents from Alaska to Namibia. His ideal day in the alpine involves ephemeral ice, solid partnership, and good timing.
