Welcome back Grivel! Grivel is celebrating its 200th year of making mountaineering equiptment. In 1818, a few years following the first summit of Mont Blanc, a family of Blacksmiths- the Grivel family- began forging tools particular to the new sport of mountain climbing. Today the heart and soul of Grivel is still in Courmayer, Italy, at the base of Mont Blanc, and the innovations have not ceased.
