Isaac grew up in Massachusetts, just outside of Boston and somehow was able to find his fix of nature in the 18 years of growing up in the suburban sprawl. From a young age, he was inspired by nature, which transformed into a love of big mountains and technical terrain throughout the end of his time in high school into college. He studied Outdoor Education at Vermont State University and began climbing during his first year. After graduating he traveled west to Southwest Colorado and spent time playing and working in Ouray, Telluride and Silverton. Now, Isaac spends his year in multiple different locations on a guiding circuit–Summer in Washington, Spring and Fall in Moab and the Desert Southwest, and Winters between the San Juans and New England. Lots of travel, and lots of fun!
Isaac’s central love for climbing, guiding and outdoor recreation is focused largely around growth and self discovery. Much of his guiding and instruction reflects this core value with the participants he works with. If you work with Isaac during a MWV Ice Fest clinic, expect to have fun, learn a ton, and be encouraged to push yourself to grow.
Isaac’s credentials are as follows: he is an AMGA Assistant Alpine and Rock Guide, holds a Pro 2 avalanche certification, is an AIARE avalanche course instructor, and is the youngest AMGA Certified Ice Instructor in the country.
