From a young age, Amy was drawn to the White Mountains, where she developed a love for exploring the trails, slopes, and cliffs of northern New England. Early on, she noticed the many barriers people face when breaking into mountain sports, and this sparked her commitment to making outdoor experiences more accessible and inclusive. Now, as Managing Director of Maine Adaptive Sports & Recreation, she is devoted to breaking down barriers so people of all abilities across the state can experience the transformative power of outdoor activities.
Amy first learned to ice climb at the MWV Ice Fest in 2015, then went on to earn her AMGA Single Pitch Instructor certification and completed the Rock Guide Course before working for Paradox Sports, a nationally recognized leader in adaptive climbing instruction. She has since worked seasonally as a guide throughout the Rocky Mountain West. This year, she’s thrilled to return to MWV Ice Fest to blend her passion for accessibility and climbing instruction.
