Zebulon began climbing as a kid in Western Massachusetts when he was playing soldier in the woods. He wanted to emulate the soldiers at D-Day who scaled cliffs over the beach to attack a gun position. Zebulon used rope scavenged from his dad’s ladders, and his brothers and he would pull themselves up using sling harnesses they made themselves. His parents wisely bought them actual equipment so they wouldn’t break their necks and Zebulon was set on a life of exploring and adventuring.
With a desire to become a guide and instructor, he went to the Green Mountain College to study Adventure Recreation. There, he met Paul, the current owner of IMCS, and began his formal education. Zebulon began guiding in 1997 and worked for a few years all over the USA. Then after graduation in 2001 and having been the first guide to do an internship with IMCS, he was hired for full time work and never left.
Since then, he’s added kite boarding, SCUBA, kayaking, surfing, etc. to his repertoire. A lifelong tinkerer and inventor, Zebulon really enjoy the systems and creative process climbers use to protect themselves and their partners. His favorite types of clients are those seeking to solve problems or overcome obstacles. He enjoys sharing his technical knowledge to come up with solutions.
Zebulon started with IMCS as a guide in the year 2000, which makes him the longest running guide in the company’s history. He guides rock, ice, skiing, and especially climbing systems and technical skills.
